ABOUT THE ARTIST

Alana Bohni is an artist from the bay area who lives and works in the Sacramento area. A graduate from Sacramento University with a degree in Art history, she would have never imagined her art would be so close to the familiar artwork she had studied for years. Having been trained in various art methods throughout her education, ceramics was the last thing she ever thought she would be gravitated towards. But after the passing of her cousin, she found working in ceramics gave her back some of the control she lost after the death of her cousin. However, anyone who has worked with ceramics knows it's the biggest game of chance once it goes in the kiln. Ceramics requires focus, patience, and a whole lot of trust through every stage of the process. Alana Bohni's "Emotional" series is greatly inspired by Pixiar's Inside Out and is a reminder to express every emotion, even the really hard ones.
